arachnid rigs and props

To summarize my BFA in the 3D Tech Pipeline, my senior year I worked on a small team of 10 on an original film, Kirilo. This film is about 4 crabs who must find their way free from the human hunters, their #1 enemy

I was the technical lead on the team, and was challenged to handle rigging and rendering. The four crabs were all built individually, as 3 of the 4 models were not symmetrical in design. The final design of Each character harbored around 76 joints, 12 IK handles, and a custom hyper-shade network to be able to animate 2d across the surface of the eyes. In addition to the characters, the cage and lock the crabs find themself stuck in required some rigging as well, as can be seen in the clips below
